Grade 3 students are learning to use the program TypeScout to fine tune their keyboarding skills. They have most recently been introduced to the Chromebooks and will soon be using the Google Apps for keyboarding as well.
In their classrooms and in the lab, third graders will be learning how to navigate Google Docs. They will learn to collaborate with each other and their teacher as they improve their writing skills. Sharing projects will come later for our third grade friends.

Animal Adaptations
Did you ever wonder why some plants and animals survive while others don't? Well, third graders as part of their science curriculum asked themselves this very question. They explored glow worms in caves, camouflaged fish, and birds with large beaks or webbed feet. They learned that all these features, and more, some physical, some behavioral are there to help that animal adapt to its environment and help it survive.
From here students took an animal and transported it to another habitat and made the necessary adaptations for the animal to survive. Students drew that new animal in KidPix and labeled its adaptations. Please click the teacher's name below to see the results of their efforts.
